  • Biography.

    Ansatz der Maschine originally started as an experimental one-off project of soundtechs Mathijs Bertel & Alexander Baert. Since then the band has expanded to a foursome for the live sets. The music is a smooth blend of clicks 'n' cuts and acoustic sounds, sampled from everyday life and distorted in every possible way. Food for those who love the warm & intelligent electronics of Múm, Hood, Dntel, ... In the fall of 2006, the long awaited first album is released on Vlas Vegas Records: 'The Postman Is A Girl'.
    In 2009, they released their second album; Painting bad weather on her body.
    Ansatz is Mathijs Bertel - electronica, voices; Bram De Vreese - altsax; Jan Dhaene - keys ; Ruben Vercaemer - tenorsax.
